Senator Tammy Baldwin represented Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives for seven terms before being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2012, as Wisconsin’s first woman to serve in the Senate and the first openly gay member elected to the Senate. She is committed to working across party lines to strengthen the essential pillars of economic security for the middle class. Tammy understands the importance of investing in our k-12 public schools so that everyone has the skills and training they need to succeed. In both word and deed, Senator Baldwin has always worked hard to build strong paths to the middle class, proving herself to be a true friend to Wisconsin’s schools, and to students pursuing their dreams.
